Recommended Podcasts for Pregnancy & Early Motherhood

Less of a bookworm and more a ‘pop the headphones in while going for a walk’ sort of person?  Here are some of my top podcast recommendations for pregnancy and motherhood.

Australian Birth Stories

(Australian)

Hosted by Sophie Walker, this podcast shares first hand accounts of pregnancy and childbirth from real women in Australia.  A great way to hear about all of the different ways women (and sometimes their partners) can prepare for childbirth and the post-partum period.  Fantastic for learning about how to roll with the proverbial punches and be resilient and flexible with your life experiences.

Motherly

(American)

The Motherly Podcast features interviews with some of the most successful women in the world, who also happen to be mothers.  Their views on motherhood, relationships, career, self-fulfillment, the list goes on! Inspiring and uplifting in tone, you’ll want to binge listen to these episodes.

Juna Women Podcast

(American)

Hosted by Juna Women founder Sarah Kuhn, the podcast examines topics from pregnancy to parenting in an empowering and supportive way.  Constantly acknowledging the rewards and challenges of these seasons of our lives, the content helps you realise you’re not alone in your experiences.

Parental As Anything

(Australian)

Hosted by one of Australia’s favourite parenting authors and educators, Maggie Dent discusses the parenting topics and dilemmas that matter to parents today.  She talks to experts from around the world and presents ideas to consider while raising the grown-ups of tomorrow.
